Most Wide-Spread Reasons Of Snoring

If you are a snorer, you are not alone. Depending on which study you read, as many as 44 percent of men and 28 percent of women are snorers. As you get older your snoring is likely to increase, because the prevalence of snoring increases with age. Researches indicate that 20 percent of normal children snore occasionally and up to 10 percent of children snore every night. These statistics are enough to show that many of us snore, but what is the reason of snoring?
Snoring noise comes out when the soft tissues of the upper airway, such as the tongue, palate, uvula, and pharyngeal walls vibrate. When you sleep, muscles throughout your body loosen. The loosening of the muscles of the upper airway reduces the size of the airway and block normal airflow creating turbulence. As the result of turbulence your soft tissues start to vibrate and you start snoring.
Since not all people are snorers, why does one person snore and another doesn't? A high share of people who snore tend to be overweight. Extra weight in the neck area will will have negative impact on breathing with the normal airway, causing snoring. If you snore and are overweight as well, losing weight probably should be your mantra. You will snore much less by just losing a few pounds. Less snoring means more energy during the day.
Snoring but not overweight? Maybe you have a chronic nasal condition. Snoring can be caused by sinusitis. Perhaps you have nasal polyps or a deviated septum, which can also cause snoring. It's possible to treat sinusitis with some snoring remedies, but you should follow the directives given by a qualified medical professional if you experience more serious conditions.
Remembering that snoring is not an illness is quite important, snoring is just a symptom. It could be a symptom of sleep apnea. The normal airway may become totally blocked, making a person unable to breathe. Breathing is restored when the person briefly wakes. This leads to a fitful night's sleep and the person is chronically tired. If you snore, it's important to select the one of snoring remedies that will fit your needs best, not just for the sake of a good night's sleep, but for the sake of your health.
